Miss World Cayman Islands (MWCI) is a local pageant that offers young Caymanian women the opportunity to compete in the Miss World pageant – the world’s most prestigious international pageant featuring over 100 contestants each year.
Miss World Cayman Islands was established in 2017 by Director, Pamela J. Ebanks-Small a past Miss Cayman Islands who competed in the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants.
In October 2017, she formed a small committee who worked together to send their first representative to Miss World – 24 year old Kristin Amaya.
Miss World Cayman Islands also aims to inspire, nurture and empower young women to be leaders in their communities through Girl Power Cayman, a non-profit organisation that offers free training and mentoring to women 15-27 years of age.
The pageants platform is the preservation and protection of the Environment. The pageant holds an annual 5k walk/run to help raise funds for local organizations doing work to help our environment as well as to bring awareness to environmental issues.
