Shiiannte Sterling is a passionate and driven 16-year-old who is currently a Year 12 A-Level student at St. Ignatius High School. As a proud Bodden Town resident, Shiiannte previously attended Clifton Hunter High School where she took on various leadership roles, including Prefect, Student Council member, Peer Mentor, and Captain of the School Football Team.
Her commitment to academic excellence has led her to achieve an impressive 18 external qualifications. Shiiannte is also an avid athlete, having participated in football, track and field and netball. She represented Cayman in 2023 in Dominica as a member of the Under 16 National Netball Team.
Beyond academics and sports, Shiiannte dedicates her time to community service, accumulating over 400 volunteer hours since 2023 through beach clean-ups and reading to preschool children. She recently discovered a passion for pageantry and modeling, which has boosted her confidence and public speaking skills. In October 2024, she was crowned the first Miss Teen World, Cayman Islands.
Having faced challenges such as anxiety, self-doubt, and bullying, Shiiannte is now a strong advocate for mental health awareness, serving as a youth ambassador for the Alex Panton Foundation. In 2024, she launched her initiative, “Ignite Your Purpose,” which addresses issues impacting young people and aims to foster a positive community impact.
Shiiannte is also an entrepreneur with a business that specializes in lipgloss and lashes. She aspires to become a criminal lawyer, driven by a passion for justice and a desire to advocate for the wrongly convicted. Shiiannte will make history in July 2025, as she will be the first representative from the Cayman Islands to compete at the 11th annual Miss Teen Mundial Pageant in El Salvador.
