Leanni Tibbetts, 2022 Miss World Cayman Islands
Our Current Queen Leanni Tibbetts
Leanni Tibbetts was crowned Miss World Cayman Islands 2022 in September last year as she became the official representative of Cayman Islands at Miss World 2023. As pageant queens are expected to set examples for young women and be strong leaders in the community, Leanni is surely on the right path.
In October, last year, Leanni became a pilot with Cayman Airways’ Twin Otter fleet, successfully completed Cayman Airways’ rigorous recruitment and training program, which is operated by Cayman Airways Express, a subsidiary of Cayman Airways Limited (CAL).
Leanni also advocates for ‘Embrace Equity’, which means to create an environment where others receive the help they need to perform; whether that is free childcare, free workshops or courses, mentoring, or wheelchair accessible buildings.
As a female pilot, Leanni has the privilege to hold a full-time job as a commercial pilot. She can therefore advocate for other pilots, guide aspiring pilots on how to get into the industry, and do her part in guiding them along the way, just as the other pilots have done for her.
Through her reign, she wants to represent women who are different and break the status quo. She is also using her platform to dedicate her focus on environmental initiatives. Leanni is truly a Beauty with a Purpose queen who is using her reign to bring a change in the world. If she wins Miss World this year, she will create history for her country by winning the first ever Miss World crown.
During the Miss World Cayman Islands Pageant, Leanni was also recognized in the following categories: Beauty with a Purpose, Miss Photogenic, Miss Best in Sports, Miss Best Island Couture and Miss Best in Interview.
